Police Barricade Rivers House of Assembly, Fire Live Ammunition

Confusion once again enveloped the Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday as the police stormed the Assembly complex, shooting live ammunition and firing teargas canisters to disperse the sitting of 25 lawmakers loyal to the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
The 25 lawmakers met to hold the first plenary in the House since it was sealed off in July following a bloody fracas in the Assembly.

Nelson Mandela Dies at 95

( BBC) – South Africa’s first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died, South Africa’s president says.

Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa’s transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.He had been receiving intense home-based medical care for a lung infection after three months in hospital.

In a statement on South African national TV, Mr Zuma said Mr Mandela had “departed” and was at peace.”Our nation has lost its greatest son,” Mr Zuma said.

 The Nobel Peace Prize laureate was one of the world’s most revered statesmen after preaching reconciliation despite being imprisoned for 27 years.

He had rarely been seen in public since officially retiring in 2004.
“What made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human. We saw in him what we seek in ourselves,” Mr Zuma said.

“Fellow South Africans, Nelson Mandela brought us together and it is together that we will bid him farewell.

“Earlier, the BBC’s Mike Wooldridge, outside Mr Mandela’s home in the Johannesburg suburb of Houghton, said there appeared to have been an unusually large family gathering.

Among those attending was family elder Bantu Holomisa,A number of government vehicles were there during the evening as well, our correspondent says.

Since he was released from hospital, the South African presidency repeatedly described Mr Mandela’s condition as critical but stable.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and was elected South Africa’s first black president in 1994.
He stepped down after five years in office.

Insiders say that Clara after leaving government house visited a psychiatrist in Port Harcourt who told her he couldn't handle her case and referred her to another psychiatrist in the Uk where she is presently receiving treatment.

Clara's mother is there with her to encourage her as she undergoes psychiatric sessions .

Insiders say that her case had gotten so bad that it was either she was kept inside or allowed to dance naked to the market square.

Dr. Conrad Murray: 'I Held Michael's Penis Every Night'

 Dr. Conrad Murray says he and Michael Jackson were so tight, he would hold his penis for him.

In a bizarre, rambling interview with The Daily Mail, Murray says, "You want to know how close we were?  I held his penis every night to fit a catheter because he was
incontinent at night."

Murray went on to say, "He wore dark trousers all the time because after he went to the toilet he would drip for hours."

And there's this mystery ... Murray says, "Michael didn't know how to put a condom on, so I had to do it for him."

Murray also discloses some of the things TMZ revealed years ago -- that Murray believes Michael killed himself. Murray claims when he walked out of Michael's bedroom the day he died, "I believe he woke up, got hold of his own stash of Propofol and injected himself.  He did it too quickly and went into cardiac arrest."

And, Murray suggests, MJ's kids have 3 different fathers, and Michael isn't one of them.  Murray says, "Michael told me he never slept with Debbie Rowe."

And, Murray insists, Michael told him he had been sexually assaulted by one of his doctors while under sedation.

And this bizarre comment.  Murray suggests Michael predicted he would die on Murray's watch.  He says MJ once looked at him and said, "You know, for the rest of your life and my life our names will become inseparable."  Murray says MJ smiled and said, "I am clairvoyant."

3 Reasons Why Some Women May Delay Making Babies Immediately After Marriage

 I have heard so many people question ladies who say they would want to take their time before having kids after marriage. Well, if all goes according to plan, I would like to wait too, and to the questions, I've realized it's based on so many different reasons for different ladies.

Apparently, in the majority, we seem to have ladies who would  prefer getting pregnant before the wedding (totally intentional), and those who would love to get pregnant on the wedding night or in the few months after. Still out there, but a little less in number are those who would just want to wait months or even years before getting pregnant.

To those with questions, let me share some of the reasons I've heard from this last group of ladies.

1. GETTING MARRIED BECAUSE YOU AND YOUR MAN CAN'T KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF EACH OTHER BUT AREN'T READY FOR KIDS: 

This reason is not so common especially among non Christians or those who may not be celibate, but then it exists. There is a state of being mentally, physically and emotionally ready to become a mother, now one or all of these states are not measured by age, its all about the mind and readiness. So,when two people are not only in love, but also want to be together but are not ready to start making babies, they can wait for a short or long period after getting married, before doing that..

Pastor’s Wife Bathes 14yr old Sister With Hot Water

 

The police at Idimu, Lagos, western Nigeria have arrested the wife of a pastor, Mrs. Angela Uzoma, for pouring hot water on her sister.
She was arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court for injuring the teenager.
The 28-year old housewife who is also the women’s leader in her husband’s ministry at Shasha allegedly poured hot water on Chidinma Chukwu, causing her serious injury
The incident happened at their residence at Ifelodun Street Orisunmbare, Shasha, Lagos State, western Nigeria.

15 Children Raped By Their Fathers In Enugu In Five Months —FIDA

The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has decried the high rate of child abuses and defilement in the South-East geo-political zone of the country, saying that about 15 children in Enugu State alone were raped by their fathers between July and November, this year.
Chairperson of FIDA, Enugu State branch, Nkiru Ugwu-Nwabueze, stated this, on Thursday, during the opening of FIDA Week 2013 in Enugu.
Ugwu-Nwabueze, who expressed regret that the children were defiled by those they call uncles, brothers, advised parents to always give their female children sex education to enable them know some sensitive parts of the body.

 Chris Brown was booted from his rehab program earlier this month for throwing a rock through his mom's car window ... TMZ has learned.

We just got hold of the probation report in the Rihanna case, which outlines what happened during his 13 days in a Malibu rehab joint for anger management counseling.

According to the report, Chris' mom showed up for a family session and was urging her son to stay in the facility for extended treatment.  Apparently, Chris violently disagreed with her and in a fit of anger threw a rock through her car window, shattering it.

The report goes on to say without continued therapy and a strong recovery support network, Probation says his prognosis is "very guarded."

And here's an interesting detail from the report: before Chris entered rehab on October 29th, he says he had issues with attention deficit disorder and also underwent a period of depression.

TMZ broke the story ... Chris got booted from the Malibu facility earlier this month following the outburst ... after just two weeks of treatment.

As we reported, the judge has just ordered Brown to 90 days in a facility and also ordered him to submit to drug testing.

Ben Igbinedion, 43, has been found guilty of killing his 3 year old nephew, Daniel Evbuowman after they shared bed.
Ben, of Bromley, southeast London, reportedly assaulted the little child in the early hours of March 2, 2013, after discovering Daniel wet the bed he and his uncle were sharing. After the assault Igbinedion put the child in a different bed, but when other family members tried to wake Daniel in the morning, they found him unresponsive. Daniel was taken to a hospital where he died.

 Justin Bieber has officially KILLED his plans to create a clothing line called "Wild Kidz" -- but he's letting one of his old lackies munch on the scraps ... TMZ has learned.

Of course, "Wild Kidz" was that stupid catch phrase Bieber and his friends Lil Za and Lil Twist would shout while doing dumb crap like pissing in mop buckets  and flipping off ex-Presidents.

Bieber's people filed paperwork to trademark the phrase for a clothing line back in September ... and it seemed like the brand was on the fast track to production.

But as we previously reported, Bieb and the Lils started having some problems with their relationship (Bieb kicked 'em out of his Calabasas home) ... and in October, Lil Twist made a play for the brand by filing a trademark application  for the name "W.I.L.D. Kidz."

Clearly, a war was brewing ... but sources tell us Bieber is planning to wave the white flag because he's OVER the company -- and doesn't care enough to fight Twist for the rights to the name.

So in the end, Twist gets everything he wanted ... well almost everything ... 'cause he's still banned from sleepovers at Justin's place. Sad.

Yes! UK Government backs down on £3,000 visa bonds

Great news people of Nigeria! The UK government has announced plans to cancel the £3,000 cash bond that visitors from ’high risk’ countries, including Nigeria, were to put up to enter Britain. Below is the latest update from The Sunday Times UK.

The government is to abandon a controversial plan to impose £3,000 immigration bonds  on visitors from “high-risk” countries in Africa and Asia after Nick Clegg threatened to block the policy.

The move will be seen by Labour as a humiliating U-turn for Theresa May, the home secretary. It came after David Cameron backed off from a full-scale confrontation with the Liberal Democrat leader, who was blocking the scheme’s progress through cabinet.

A pilot project to target visitors from seven countries — including India, Pakistan and Nigeria — who would have had to pay a cash guarantee or deposit to deter immigration abuse was to have been introduced this month.

The plan was to make visitors forfeit £3,000 if they failed to return home by the time their visas had expired. But in an announcement this weekend the government said it was canceling the plans.

The woman, Sarah Adleta from Florida, and her husband reportedly made sex with their children a part of their parenting plan. They even continued with these shocking sexual act after the divorced.

The mother of two also confessed to performing sex acts on her 4-year-old girl on camera while another man, Aaron Dixon, watched via Skype from North Carolina. During court proceedings, she revealed that her husband only agreed to be marred to her if she can makes sure he gets to have sex with their daughter and she agreed because she was willing to do anything to be with him.

Investigators found that the couple’s daughter, who was 4 at the time of the arrest, had the developmental level of an 18-month old, was not toilet-trained, and displayed “sexualized” behaviors.

Father Kidnaps Son, Demands N350, 000 Ransom

The State Security Service, Lagos State Command, has arrested a 48-year-old man, Samson Adebayo, for allegedly arranging the kidnap of his nine-year-old son, Emmanuel, and demanding a ransom of N350, 000.

According to the SSS, Adebayo had solicited the help of his girlfriend, Kehinde Alonge, to kidnap Emmanuel from his residence at 2, Solomon Street, Ilu-Nla, Aradagun, Badagry.

The director, SSS, Lagos State, Mr. Ben Achu-Olayi, said Adebayo reported the incident to security agents, pretending to be distraught.

Chris Brown 3-Month Rehab Stint For Anger Issues

Chris Brown will spend up to 3 MONTHS in a Malibu rehab joint for his anger problems ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the singer tell TMZ ... there has been no firm decision on the precise length of time Brown will stay, but everyone in Brown's camp -- including Brown himself -- is open to as much as 3 months.

One source put it this way ... "The rehab facility has been told to take him [Brown] apart and put him back together."

As TMZ first reported ... Brown is specifically getting treatment for his anger problem, which manifested itself last weekend when he was arrested for allegedly punching a guy in the face.

And, as we previously reported, Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, knows it's very likely the judge in the Rihanna case will revoke Brown's probation, which could put him behind prison bars for up to 4 years.  The rehab move is an act of good faith, showing Brown is dealing with his problems.

The man accused of stalking Rihanna -- and claiming to be her "future husband"  -- must continue to stay away from her for the next 2 years ... TMZ has learned.

As we first told you ...Jonathan Whooper was arrested earlier this month for multiple trespasses at the home RiRi was renting in Pacific Palisades. A security guard at the home says Whooper claimed he was going to marry the singer. 

A judge in L.A. just granted Rihanna a permanent restraining order against Whooper. He has to stay 100 yards away from her ... the same restriction as the temporary restraining order which was already in place.

Chris Brown Charge Reduced To Misdemeanor Assault

Chris Brown just got cut a big break ... the assault charge has just been reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor ... and Chris pled not guilty.  Chris has just been released without bail. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the victim.

Chris had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge just vacated that order.  It's standard in such cases to order a drug test, but that has been cancelled. 

The bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

Chris Brown arrested for felony assault Gay Slur Allegedly Hurled

 
Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for FELONY assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... at around 4:30 AM Brown got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel on K Street and allegedly punched him once in the face.  We're told the alleged victim never threw a punch. 

The alleged victim tells TMZ ... he and a friend were hanging out at the W when they saw 2 women about to take a picture with Brown.  The victim -- who says he's not a Chris Brown fan -- says he and his buddy photo bombed the 2 women and Chris went nuts, punching him in the face and breaking his nose.  He went to the hospital and says he may need surgery as early as tomorrow. 

Law enforcement sources and the alleged victim tell TMZ ... before striking the man, Chris said, "I'm not into this gay s**t, I'm into boxing."  After Chris punched the man, the fight was taken to the ground.

Son Murders 70yr Old Mum In Katsina

According to police sources, the deceased met death at the hands of her son when she insisted that the son pay up his father’s debt. The incident took place at Batagarawa Local Government in Katsina.
Narrating the incident to Sunday Sun, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Hurdi explained that the ugly incident happened on August 5, 2013 when Usman went to visit his mother, who had remarried following her divorce from Usman’s father.

Two Planes Collide at Lagos International Airport Ikeja

 
We have heard of car collision, trailer collision and sometimes ship collision. But what is weird is when you hear of two planes colliding. this is what happened yesterday on Friday 25th October 2013 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, when a Turkish plane collided with a Max Air plane transporting pilgrims coming from Saudi Arabia.
The incidence occurred when a Turkish aircraft that has successfully landed was trying to park and it wings collided with that of max Air which just transported pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
Leadership News report:

The incident caused minor damages to both planes which were immediately taken away for repairs.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the incident. He described damages to the aircraft as minor.

I’ve been married to this man for just three years. We have a two year old child together. Tanker Explosion Kills Six In Kaduna

Six persons were killed on Friday night in a fire from a tanker explosion in Maraban Jos, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Federal Road Maintenance Agency had constructed a trailer park at the Maraban Jos axis of the Kaduna-Zaria expressway to reduce the high rate of fires caused by petrol tankers and accidents caused by articulated trucks parked along the road.
Alhaji Abdullahi Kwarau, the Chairman of Igabi Local Government Council, said the accident, which occurred on Friday night, involved two fuel-laden tankers.
He appealed to the state government to expedite action on the construction of more trailer parks on major roads in the state to avoid a recurrence of such accidents.
Governor Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna State, who condoled with the families of those who died in the accident, urged drivers, particularly those of petrol tankers, to be extra vigilant while driving or parking their vehicles.
He assured the people that efforts were underway to ensure the timely completion of new trailer parks being constructed in Igabi, Kagarko and Birnin Gwari local government areas.
Yero said the state government was also collaborating with FERMA to ensure the speedy completion of ongoing road projects to forestall recurring accidents on the major roads.

Army Kills 74 Boko Haram Militants In Borno

(AFP) – Nigeria’s army said Friday it had killed 74 suspected Boko Haram fighters in a raid in northeastern Borno state, as gunmen from the Islamist group battled security forces in a neighbouring area.
The army, which is battling to crush a four-year Islamist uprising in Nigeria, said it deployed bombs and ground troops to destroy insurgent camps in Borno on Thursday.
Army spokesman Mohammed Dole said that “74 suspected militants” were killed in the assault outside the Borno capital Maiduguri, where Boko Haram was founded more than a decade ago.
The operation followed an assault Monday on Boko Haram camps in another part of Borno, which the military said left 37 Islamists dead.
In a separate outbreak of violence, suspected Islamist fighters stormed the city of Damaturu in coordinated raids on Thursday, burning at least four police buildings, said a senior police officer who requested anonymity.

Teen Commits Suicide After Parents Ban Her from Facebook

A teenager who took her own life after her parents banned her from accessing her own Facebook page wrote a suicide note saying she couldn't live without the social networking site.

Aishwarya Dahiwal, 17, was found hanged in her room in the western Indian city of Parbhani Wednesday night after an argument with her parents over the excessive amount of time she spent on Facebook, as well as the lengthy conversations she would have on her cellphone.

"Like all parents, their intentions were only to ensure that the girl did not go astray," investigating officer G. H. Lemgude told the Indo-Asian News Service."They advised her to concentrate on her technical studies and stay away from long mobile chats and social networking sites."

In a suicide note she wrote shortly after the argument, Aishwarya blamed her parents and the restrictions they put on her Facebook use.

"Is Facebook so bad?" she wrote. "I cannot stay in a home with such restrictions as I can't live without Facebook."

Newsweek Pakistan says  that, with Internet access spreading rapidly across India, many high school students are ditching their phones  in favor of communicating exclusively over Facebook.

This is serious.

Why Nigeria is Still Poor – CBN Gov

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has attributed the continuous poverty in the country to bad governance and its attendant misplaced priorities, corruption and huge debt burden.
Sanusi, who stated this yesterday during a conference on effective strategies for reducing poverty and scaling up implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Nigeria, organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), also gave non-competitiveness of Nigerian goods in the international markets, few economic opportunities, conflict and violence, huge debt burden, low productivity, high rate of population growth, and suboptimal human capital as part of the poverty problem in the country.

ASUU Strike: Idle Students Take Up Menial Jobs In Kaduna

Some undergraduates in Kaduna have ventured into various vocations to keep them occupied as the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) persists, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Some of them who spoke with NAN on Friday in Kaduna said that they had to find something to do, to keep their minds occupied and avoid trouble.
Grace Ocholi, a 300-level student of English at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, said she secured a temporary job as a fuel pump attendant at a petrol station in Sabon-Tasha area of the city to enable her earn some money until the end of the strike.
“Everyone in my house go out every morning to work, and my younger sisters go to school while I stay home and sleep awaiting for their return.
“I am not okay with staying idle so I decided to engage in something useful,” Grace said.
Seun Ali, an HND Computer Science student of Kaduna Polytechnic told NAN that he worked at a friend’s barbing saloon to earn some money instead of staying idle at home.
Another student, Henry Samuel of Mass Communication Department, Ahmadu Bello University, said he was assisting his father in selling tiles before he was admitted to the university.
Samuel said he had to continue manning the business until the end of the lecturers’ strike.
“So instead of wasting time waiting for the prolonged strike to end, I returned to continue from where I stopped,” he said.
The students advised their colleagues to engage in something meaningful while the strike lasted, so as not to fall into the temptation of going into crime due to idleness.
NAN recalls that ASUU had been on strike since June over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement it entered with the Federal Government on the funding of public universities. (NAN)

Police discover body in search for missing teenager, 18, in overgrown garden of his own home TWO MONTHS after he was reported missing

 
A decomposed body has been found in the back garden of the home of a public schoolboy who went missing ten weeks ago.
Police officers searching for Miller Redpath, 18, found the corpse, which is yet to be identified, lying in the 'overgrown' yard at the rear of his family's house.
Suffolk police are yet to confirm if it was the first time they had searched the house.
The public schoolboy, who was waiting on his A-Level results, was last seen alive when his widowed mother Anastasia Miller went to wake him early on August 13, but found him 'grumpy' and left him in bed.
She has been searching for her son ever since, issuing a string of public appeals on local radio and in newspapers.
Ms Miller, an accountant who runs a real estate agency in Eastern Europe, also distributed posters declaring her son missing.
Police confirmed that a body was found at around 1.10pm on Thursday in the 'overgrown rear garden' at the house where he lived with his mother in Wenhaston near Southwold, Suffolk.
The death is being treated as unexplained by police who have cordoned off the the garden while it is examined by scenes of crimes officers, making a forensic search for clues.

N255m Car Deal: Stella Oduah Explains Her Side Of The Story

Embattled Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, who is facing separate probe panels set up by President Goodluck Jonathan as well as the National Assembly over the purchase of N255 million armoured cars has written the president to explain her side of the story.
The President on Tuesday issued query to her to explain her role in the purchase of the armoured cars.
In her response, the minister said procurement of the cars followed due process and was provided for in the NCAA 2013 budget.
In her defence titled: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ON THE PROCUREMENT OF NCAA OPERATIONAL VEHICLES, she wrote: “The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, is the statutory regulator of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Industry.
Consequently, the NCAA is charged with oversight responsibilities over all civil aviation operations in the country, including safety, security and strict compliance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, SARPs, and Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, NCARs.

Terrorism: Military Approach Alone Can’t Win Boko Haram War -US

United States of America has advised the Federal Government to look beyond military operations to curb terrorism.
US/AFRICOM Commander Gen. David Rodriguez and Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Linda Thomas-Greenfield spoke during a live web-chat.
They said military operations must be backed with other strategies.
They reassured Nigeria of U.S.’s support in the fight against terrorism.
Thomas-Greenfield said: “We are very concerned about the impact of Boko Haram in Nigeria but also outside the border of Nigeria. We have had a number of conversations and discussions with the Nigeria government on how to address this issue in terms of addressing the broad development issues in north Nigeria but also on how the government responds to the threat that Boko Haram is posing in that region.

18yr Old Gang-rape Victim In Bayelsa Commits Suicide

An 18-year-old rape victim, identified as Janet, has committed suicide in the Amarata area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The deceased, a native of Oduali community in Abus/Odua Local Government Area of Rivers State, was allegedly raped by three unidentified boys in the area.
Janet reportedly hanged herself due to the stigmatisation she allegedly experienced after the incident.
A family source, who craved anonymity, said Janet was gang-raped last week at gunpoint, while on errand for her elder sister. She was said to have been forced into an uncompleted building by her assailants, who were three in number before the act.
The source said, “Janet was visibly sad and devastated after the incident; she narrated her experience to her sister and sister’s husband. The sister’s husband, who is a pastor, asked her to describe any of her attackers and she described a certain boy.
“The boy was traced to his house but when they got there, they discovered that he had absconded. Her brother-in-law then assured her that he would pursue the matter to a logical conclusion.”
Unknown to her guardians, the distraught girl had decided to take her life due to the ugly incident. Janet gulped a poisonous substance known as sniper. She was rushed to the Gloryland Hospital when she was discovered to be groaning in pain.”
It was further gathered from a family member that the deceased had left behind a suicide note before taking her life.
When contacted on the development, spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, confirmed the incident.
He said the police had begun an investigation into the alleged rape report lodged by the deceased’s family.

US Announces New Procedure for Visa Renewal

The United States Consulate General in Lagos has announced a procedure for visa renewal in Nigeria as contained in its DHL Drop Box Visa Renewal Programme.
According to a statement yesterday, the consulate stated that the programme would allow certain visa applicants, who had previously been issued US visas to renew their visas without attending an interview.
It said to qualify for the DHL Drop Box Visa Renewal Programme, visa applicants must satisfy specific criteria and that if applying as a group or family, all members must fulfil each criteria to use the programme.
The Consulate General explained further that to qualify for the programme, the applicant must be holding a Nigerian passport.
Others include: “the applicant’s last visa interview resulted in an issuance; the applicant was issued a two-year B1/B2 United States visa in Lagos or Abuja; the visa expired no more than one year prior to reissuance; the applicant was at least 14 years old at the time of the last issuance or will be under the age of 14 at the time of reissuance and the applicant has never been arrested nor had an encounter with law enforcement, customs, or immigration officials in the United States.”
It added that those who satisfy these criteria should follow the visa application instructions on the US Embassy Nigeria website http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/niv_appointmnent_instructions.html, saying the ‘CGI visa appointment website would ask applicants a series of questions reflecting the criteria for the DHL Drop Box Visa Renewal Programme’.
It explained also that qualifying applicants will be prompted to print a letter confirming their eligibility for the programme and instructing them to drop off the letter with their passport, application confirmation sheet, passport photos and visa fee receipt to one of the DHL facilities in Lagos with the application packets being adjudicated and returned to the applicant’s selected DHL location within 7-10 business days.

EFCC Set to Probe Stella Oduah’s N255m Armoured Car Deal

Despite the attempt by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to divert attention away from the N255 million spent procuring two armoured cars for the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, her troubles refuse to go away as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may have decided to probe the deal.
Sources informed THISDAY that the commission has started making preliminary investigations into the contract and could start probing the exorbitant purchase of the cars that was believed to have bypassed due process.
Since the story broke that the NCAA bought two BMW 760 LI armoured cars for the use of the minister, there has been a growing clamour for President Goodluck Jonathan to sack her if she fails to resign.

Boko Haram Strikes Again, Kill 10 In Borno Village

For the second time in two days, gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect have invaded villages of Kawuri District and Fori of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. They killed 10 people, including three members of the civilian JTF.
Twenty four hours earlier, gunmen attacked border communities of Logomani villages between Dikwa – Gamboru Ngala and Cameroon Republic, killing over 20 civilians including motorists.
Kawuri District is one of the biggest in Konduga council area, along the Maiduguri-Obama Highway which is about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri the state capital.

Boko Haram Is Sponsored By Foreign Countries -FG

The Nigerian Government, Tuesday, told the United Nations Human Rights Council, that the Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the country were being sponsored by some foreign countries.
Nigeria, also said that it will not bow to international pressure to allow same sex-marriage in the country, arguing that same was against its cultural and traditional values.
It also justified the execution of death row inmates in the country, contending that same was in accordance with its laws.

Four Suspected Boko Haram Members Arraigned Over Plot To Bomb Kirikiri Prison

The Federal Government on Tuesday arraigned four persons at the Federal High Court, Lagos for allegedly belonging to the proscribed Boko Haram sect.
It said the first and second defendants allegedly plotted to attack the Kirikiri Maximum Prison to free their members held in custody.
The accused persons are – Adamu Mohammed, Mohammed Mustapha, Bura Hassaini and Mohammed Ibrahim.
Security was tight at the court as armed State  (SSS) personnel Security Services mounted guard around the premises.

Church Building Collapses In Edo

Members of The Lord of All Grace Ministry are currently singing praises to God after a three- storey building housing their church collapsed moments after a church service.
The house is located at Edo Street, Off Upper Sokponba Road in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State.No life was however lost in the incident.
Pastor of the church, Sandra Ogbemudia, said they noticed a crack after a heavy downpour the previous day.
She said children were playing inside the church after the service and the building came down few seconds after she asked the children to leave the building.
Sandra appealed for support to help rebuild the church.

The 'New Slaves' hitmaker took to the stage at the Key Arena in Seattle on Saturday night where he performed tracks from his latest album 'Yeezus' and it seems that Kanye was on a mission to get everybody talking with the first show after he brought out an extra who bore an uncanny resemblance to Jesus, donning a white cloth and similar long dark hair.

Kanye performed his College Dropout hit, "Jesus Walks." "White Jesus, is that you?… Oh, shit!," he said jokingly, according to MTV News. According to a report by Vanguard the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday October 18th paraded a 40-year-old man, Adeyemi Stephen Akintolure (pictured above), a suspected fake medical doctor, who claimed to be a staff of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, with card No. 13541, identifying him as a surgeon and gynaecologist.

Should I Forget My Long Distace Girlfriend, or Reassure Her I'm Serious

Hello please can I ask your readers some questions? I need their input on a decision I want to make.

I’ve been dating this very good friend of mine for like 3 months, we were friends for 5-6 years before then but just lately she’s been acting different though when I ask she says she is okay. Last week I asked her plainly, "what I do I really mean to you" because of the way I was feeling.

Anyway, she said was I thinking of us not been together any more or is it bothering me that we are together can’t really get the right words but she said something close to do I want us to break up. So I said no, then she said let her say the truth she met her pastor in her former church and he told her that our aura does not go together (still don't get that) if we get married it will be okay but when we have kids we have problems that it’s okay if we are just friends.

Then I said okay what if I ask my own pastor and he says we are okay together, she said she will follow her pastor. So I said, we are officially friends now? She said yes then I said okay then. She added that it will be easy for me to get any other girl I want from the ones asking me out or the ones I already know -  I did tell her about those ladies when she said we should be sincere in our relationships.

I was confused so I asked some of my friends they said maybe it’s because of the distance and maybe she wants me to reassure her or something.... though since then whenever I post on Facebook she is always like, call me and when I call and ask, she will say I just want to hear your voice.

I am really kind of disturbed and will like to ask her out again.... funny enough,  she is my second relationship after many years though I have many friends that are ladies most of them think I am shy of asking them out but the truth I don't want to make promises I can’t fulfill that’s why I never had any lady in my university.

I am doing my masters now but not in Nigeria so maybe that why she is acting like that, I mean the long distance since she’s in Nigeria, but I don't really know. Do you think I should concentrate on my books and forget her? I really like her and at 27 am not getting any younger. I want to be married by 30 but I wonder is this what going into a real relationship can cause? Trust me, it’s very painful.

Enugu Prison Cells For Rent – Inmates Pay N2000 for Court Appearance

Revelations that have startled as many as have heard them have been made by a freed inmate about how the Enugu Maximum Prison authorities allegedly force prisoners to pay N2,000 fee for each of them to be transported from the prison to court to attend to their various matters.
The prisoner who was recently set free also claimed that inmates paid between N100 to N150 for a bucket of water.
The Deputy Comptroller in charge of the prison, Mustapha Attah however dismissed the allegations as an attempt by mischief-makers who, he said, were out to undermine his outstanding contributions to the growth and effective control of the prison.
